Record Player Dual Do they burn original movies to DVD+R Dual Layer discs in a different way?
Hi, i have a LG home theater system (Model : LFD790), and recently i bought a original movie which is recorded in a dual layer DVD disc. It is working perfectly in my player although it says it plays only DVD+/-R/RW discs. My question is if i burn my own DVD+R dual layer disc with some movie clips, will it work in my home theater system? Does these dual layer movie disc burned in a different way so that they could be played in any dvd player? If so, how?
Yes, movies from studios are burned a different way. In fact, they are like vinyl records: they are PRESSED. A master is made, and duplicates are pressed from it.
This is why the movies you buy from Best Buy or Circuit City will last longer than any data you burn onto a DVD, whether it’s single-layer or dual-layer.
Yes, if your DVD player supports DVD+R and DVD-R, movies you burn *should* be compatible with your player.
But…there are somtimes compatibility issues between individual DVD players and writable DVDs. Cheap blanks are often a Bad Idea.
- There are many web-sites you can use to see how reliable a specific brand of DVD blank is with your specific DVD player.
- It’s a good idea to use a slower write speed for writing DVD (and not use the PC for anything else while it’s writing the DVD) until you have some confidence in the reliability of the process for your environment.

Choosing An Mp3 Player
With technology and explosion of music business, blossomed many musicians pouring out their emotions. The number of music tracks and genres grew exponentially over the decades and music became unmanageable, even a personal collection. Not so long ago, piles of gramophone records or audio cassettes could be found in every music fan’s house. They are difficult to organize and maintain in good condition. However, that is past.
Everything changed since then. The way we create, listen to and share music. Just as nobody thought in the good olden days that a cassette player would replace a gramophone, who could have thought a decade back that a compact and ultra-light digital mp3 audio player will replace the cassette record player. These days you can find MP3 players that are as small as the USB device with a dual function. Most of the mp3 players today have a high memory capability and multiple functions. The memory can range from 1GB to 60 GB. All the problems of an average music buff were solved with one instrument, the MP3 player. MP3 players are simple, small, easy to use, high fidelity sound and you can carry hundreds of your favourite songs with you in your pocket.
I know that you wanted to buy one immediately. However, you need to know a little more about these MP3 players. Different mp3 players have different configurations and have different functional capabilities. Some of the mp3 players come with basic functions and buttons while others have complex functionalities and jazzy buttons. Therefore, when you are out there in the market to find the right mp3 player then you need to look for the following functionalities:
i. Memory: How many songs or files it can hold. There is no point buying an mp3 player with 30GB memory if you are not going to use it for storing other files like videos or presentations. Well, it depends on how many songs you want to store on your MP3 player. 30GB of memory space is a lot for storing just mp3 or audio files and it costs a bit too. You can store up to 250 songs per GB. Therefore, it’s your calculation based on your songs collection. Look for a flash memory player that has at least 64MB onboard memory.
ii. Connection: Connection refers to the compatibility to your computer, it is very important. Many people download music from internet and transfer them to the MP3 player. Sometimes you may want to keep some songs on your computer to make room for new songs on your MP3 player. Few mp3 players offer wireless transfer of files but most of the mp3 players offer two options: USB and FireWire. Whether your mp3 player has the USB option or the FireWire option, you will need a cable, which will be included in the package. The cable will connect the mp3 player to the USB port of your computer so that you can easily transfer files from the computer to the mp3 player or vice-versa. FireWire primarily supports connection to the Mac.
iii. Display: Most of the mp3 players available today have a display screen although the size of the screen will vary from player to player. The display screen displays song name, album name, artiste name apart from some other information such as time, track length etc. The display screen will also help you to operate the main menu so that you can choose a particular function. Of course, some very good MP3 players do not have a screen. It is just a matter of choice.
iv. Type of files: All mp3 players can save or play particular audio files or convert a particular type of audio file into an mp3 file. Therefore, when you are shopping for an mp3 player, you need to find a player that can play Mp3 and support WMA as well as AAC audio files. Apart from that, the mp3 player should also be able to support MPEG4-SP, MJPEG, WMV9, DivX 4/5, and XviD.
These are some of the most important aspects of an mp3 player, you should consider before buying. Apart from these aspects, any extra functions will also be useful like FM radio, Clock & alarm, voice recorder etc. Remember that additional functions mean extra cost. If you do not need them, you can spend the saved amount on buying new albums.

Turntable Hardware Hooking up hardware to Focusrite Saffire audio interface?
http://www.focusrite.com/product/saffire
I would like to hook up my Yamaha Motif ES8 keyboard and a turntable with rca outputs to my Focusrite Saffire. What is the most efficient way of doing so, without sacraficing quality of sound?
Turntable Usb Output What is the best non-DJ and non-USB turntable?
What is the best turntable that will NOT be used for DJ purposes and will NOT be used to transfer songs onto a computer? We only want to listen to the record, and it needs to have a somewhat modern output to plug into a line-in input. A headphone jack or equivalent would probably work.
We would like something a bit more vintage, but we just want to be able to plug an audio line into our current speaker set-up. Thanks!
Can’t really answer that without knowing your budget… or more about the system you want to hook it up to. There are tables in all price-ranges and you generally get what you pay for. So, the “best” turntable for you is going to have a lot to do with your budget and how revealing your system is.
A vintage or other turntable without a built-in phono preamp can be hooked up to any standard line-level input using a separate phono preamp and whatever adapter cable you might need.
As far as new tables go… I would recommend at least the Audio Technica direct-drive for any system. It’s the lowest priced table I know of with decent speed accuracy, particularly over time and a cartridge having an elliptical stylus for cleaner tracking and a wider frequency range than the cheap conical cartridges that come on all the other tables in the price-range or below. This table has a built-in phono preamp that can be switched on or off if used with a receiver having an input marked “phono”. It has a nice “vintage” look since it’s outwardly a “clone” of the classic Technics SL1200MKII. Although, the construction is completely different. It’s a nice table for the money, but it doesn’t come close to matching the specs of the Technics Table. This table has a USB output you say you don’t need. But, the older non-USB version isn’t selling for any less on Amazon. You may be able to find it for less elsewhere. The USB version might come in handy to transfer your vinyl to CDs using a computer someday…
If you’re in the USA… I’m going to be moving to a slightly smaller place in August and I have decided to sell an ’80s Dual 522 I have. I’d be asking $100.00 and I could throw in a Behringer phono preamp and probably any cable you’d need (I have a decent collection of cables, lol). The table has a new part that restored the auto functions, a new belt and a new Audio Technica AT95E cartridge and stylus. Everything has been cleaned and lubed and the table works like new. The cosmetics are also very good. Here’s a photo with the old cartridge. The new cartridge has a green stylus. This table would outperform the new Audio Technica by a pretty wide margin and it’s my belief it would probably outlast it too. I even have the original box, packing materials and manual for super-safe shipping! I could supply more new photos, more contact info, rips of the sound, etc… if you’re interested. Feel free to message me if you’re interested or just have other turntable questions.
I’m just looking for something cheap to learn and I don’t want to spend 500 bucks to do so.
Absolutely! I learned on a snare, and 4 other snares drums all tuned differently on cheap stands. I’ve now been playing for 30 years.
Jeff Pocarro learned on a single practice pad for a year, playing rudiments, Than bought a drum set. Dude, you can learn on tupper-ware if you wanted to.
My advice. Buy a used 5 piece acoustic set off of Craig’s list, (Snare, 2 mounted toms, 1 floor tom, single bass drum, high hat, one, or two cymbals), for a couple hundred bucks, and see if you really want to learn them or not! Drums take allot of dedication. Nothing more fun though!
Rock on!

More info needed! Can’t expect a pertinant answer to a generic question. What kind of TT is it? Belt drive? Rubber tire drive? Is it “high end” equipment or ??? Does it happen with every LP? Used frequently or been in storage for a while?

ETF Trend Trading: How to Consistently Beat the Pants of the S&P Average Every Day
The people who are just stepping into the forum of trading are nowadays abandoning the age old forex trading techniques and stock trading. They are nowadays more interested in ETF trend trading. This article aims at explaining how ETF trading can be of real help is minimizing your losses everyday and ensure a win –win situation for you.
In a trading there are drawdown or rather sudden and abrupt losses involved. If you do nothing to shield yourself from these losses then this business will simply ruin you and get your whole world crumbling around you. For example let us assume that when you started trading your account consisted of $20,000.
After 3 consecutive losses you simply come down to a value of $10,000, which happens to be 50% of what you had. So the loss incurred was 50%. Now if I ask you that how much profit you need to make in order to get started, I think your answer will be 50%. This is nothing shocking, because this would be the reply of most people.
But in order to be in the business and to ensure that you are extracting a good lot you must make a profit of 100%. In order to get back to even you cannot afford to compromise a value less than that. Your new base would significantly grow low as you suffer these losses and so it is necessary that you come back with a high percentage of profit to be in a stable position. Now here comes the role of ETF trend trading.
Professional managers and people who are into this business of trading would never risk more than 2% for every trade. In this way they can handle 10 consecutive losses which would result them a total loss of 20% and not more than that. And there is less to recover in this way.
This is quite low compared to the earlier situation. If anyone has told you that more risk is equal to more money then please break that world and come out, more risk is more risk and nothing beyond that. ETF trend trading does a great job in teaching you handle these risks. It works excellently by reducing your chances of losses. And if you can reduce your chances of loss then what else but a good win deal is waiting for you.
The biggest battle is the battle of survival in this field as most traders do not manage to survive. Since ETF trend trading can make one survive this drawdown, naturally it turns into something that would go a long way.
If you can go for an ETF trend trading course then nothing can be more helpful than this. It would give you a brief idea on the government policies, economic scenario of the country, the supply and demands. It would help you identify trends and would equip you in such a way that you are able to make most of the moving costs.
So learn more about it and stop suffering by losing heavily over trades.
